Tankview Success
The success of TANKVIEW continues with the supply of 5 more ships systems supplied to Chinese shipyards. Two delegations of engineers from Shanghai were received at Haywards Heath for full training during October and November.
The system collects data from some 40 pcs PSM series 260 level and pressure transmitters, monitoring ballast and fuel tanks onto an RS 485 data bus. In each case a Hewlett Packard marine approved PC was supplied with pre-configured Tankview display and embedded data. Mark Jones comments "by pre-configuring TANKVIEW with the data in the factory enabled us to set-up the entire system on the bench before delivery. The customer could train on the system before installation giving a confidence which was much appreciated. Also the full ships configuration data is held on disk on our premises both for back-up security and to allow for future upgrades or additions. It is comforting for our customers to know that in the unlikely event of a total data corruption on board the ship, that the entire programme can be restored by E-Mail if necessary."
